Laura Larkins
Professional background : Banking and Finance
Type of Governor : Co-Chair
As a proud parent and of 2 children attending Days Lane Primary School I was delighted to join the Governing Board in September 2019 as a Parent Governor. I passionately believe in the importance of education but equally, that learning is a positive experience and delivered in an environment that supports children’s physical and mental wellbeing. My professional background is in Banking and Financial Services. I hope to be able to use my experience to support and challenge the Senior Leadership Team and staff to ensure the continued success of Days Lane for all our children.
Caroline Lancett
Professional background : Local Authortiy Governance Professional
Type of Governor : Co-Chair
I joined the Trust Board in 2019 as a Parent Trustee and I currently have three children attending Days Lane. I am keen to support and challenge the school to ensure all our children have the opportunity to receive an excellent education in an inclusive and happy environment. For many years, I was an executive assistant and an office manager and I am now a Governance Professional for the Local Authority. My skills and experience are wide and varied and I aim to contribute constructively and positively to the Trust Board.
Joanna Ward
Professional background : Business Owner / Early Education
Type of Governor : Co-opted Trustee
Primarily, my reason for joining the Governing Board is as a mum of 3 school aged children (aged 8 – 15), secondly, being able to share my experiences from working within Early Education and running a business for the past 20 years. It’s important to me that all children have a firm foundation in their Primary schooling, enabling them to have the best start in life and the opportunity to learn. I advocate positive parent partnership, making a difference to all children & improving outcomes, however big or small, enabling them to reach their full potential. I am hoping to be able to utilise my skills across the vast skillset that schools are now responsible for, along with the Governing Board, to support the Head Teacher & Senior Leadership Team. Working locally I am able to attend meetings, visit the school, with a longer term view to being an active Governor around the school, aiding Days Lane to ensure that all pupils attending Days Lane receive effective, high quality education in a safe environment who leave with aspirations for the future and a positive experience of Primary education.
Georgina Self
Professional background : Finance
Type of Governor : Co-opted Trustee
I always worked in the Finance Sector firstly in Banking in the City of London. I continued to work part time for local accountants while bringing up my family.
I was then fortunate to be offered a position as Head of Finance for a Cruise line.
I hope that I can make a positive contribution to the board of Governors
Aarti Chibber
Professional background: Primary Education
Type of Governor: Co-opted Trustee
I am thrilled to be a part of Days Lane Governing body and joined as a co-opted trustee in February 2023. I have had a long-standing career in Primary Education - spanning 14 years - across a range of socio-economic areas. I have strong leadership skills and experience in managing year groups, supporting and mentoring new staff and have led forums and training, to foster deeper understandings of teaching pedagogy. I have a thorough understanding of the role SLT and teachers play in order to provide lasting and meaningful educational journeys for our children. I am passionate about high-quality curriculums that support children from an equality and equity standpoint, with inclusion and diversity always at the centre of my ethos.
I hope to use my experience and knowledge to demonstrate my desire to continually grow and make a lasting impact on the lives of children at Days Lane. I look forward to offering reflective and strategic support to challenge the Senior Leadership Team.
