Meet Your Governors

Ghazal Siddiqui

Occupation: Stay at home Mum

Type of Governor: Parent

Special Interest: Curriculum

I have been a stay at home mum since I had my four children and enjoy each moment. All of my children have attended or currently attend Days Lane Primary School so I am keen to help move the school forwards, not only for my own children, but for all of the pupils. I am a parent governor which I hope will allow me to be involved in achieving a pleasant school life for all children, including academic and personal growth. When each child leaves, I would like them to remember their time here as a productive, challenging, and most importantly, happy time in their life.

Janine Wooster

Occupation: Special Educational needs co-ordinator (temporary post for one year)

Type of Governor: Staff

Special Interest: Curriculum

Governance roles in other educational institutions –   Chair of governors at a Bexley special school.

I have worked in special education for over 30 years as a teacher in mainstream and special schools and for almost 20 years as team leader of the Bexley Statutory Assessment Service. Working with schools, parents and children to ensure that those children who need to access a Statement of special educational needs or an Education, health and care plan are able to receive the help that they need in school.

I have had a number of roles on different governing bodies in Bexley and other neighbouring local authorities. I have a high degree of knowledge of SEN policy and law through my training and my experience.

I welcome the opportunity to use my skills, experience, and knowledge for children and SEN to support and challenge Days Lane primary school and to help the school to move forward in the future ensuring that all of the children’s needs are being effectively met.

As a teacher and a parent of two now teenage children I believe that education is vital in preparing children for their future. I believe that the early years of a child’s education are crucial to their later academic achievements and just as importantly to the development of social and other life skills. I have been a class teacher for over 12 years, the last 3 of which have been at Days Lane Primary School, where I have been privileged to be part of the schools many successes. I have recently joined the Senior Leadership team and I am looking forward to contributing at a greater level to the decision making that affect teaching and learning. I hope that my skills and experience will prove to be an asset to the governing body and I am excited to support the school on its journey,

I am currently on a career break to look after my children who are currently studying at Days Lane Primary school.  Acting as a parent governor is a fantastic opportunity to have an impact on the education and positive influence in our children's lives.  As the education continues to change I want to contribute towards those challenges and provide our children with opportunities to learn.

I am very proud to be a governor at Days Lane. We have been fortunate enough

to have all four of our children attend the school of which three are still

currently attending.

Being governor is a fantastic opportunity to help all the pupils of Days Lane realise their potential and become the best, all round and balanced young people they possibly can be.
